POSITION TITLE: Production Finance Analyst (Freelance)

The Freelance Production Finance Analyst supports premium cable network’s Finance Team by providing day-to-day support for productions. This position interacts with all levels of employees and various departments through-out the company.


WBS Creation & Vendor Set-up
• Support business request for internal WBS project code creation for Development, Licensed Projects, Scripted and Un-scripted projects
• Liaison between new vendor and Network, assisting vendor with the setup process in Ariba for payment
• Main point of contact for troubleshooting and navigating/resolving vendor payment issues
• Perform weekly payroll edit review based on data received by Payroll Company, correspond with Payroll paymaster on outstanding issues, and timely approval of edits for payment to employees

Production Finance/Accounting
• Provide support for Licensed Projects: payments, tracking and cash planning
• Investigate and resolve inquiries from teams needing assistance with AP related matters such as questions about POs, confirmations, etc.
• Facilitate preparation and/or review of cash flow schedules and the creation of POs in Ariba for 3rd party productions.
• Assist Sr. Director and Finance Manager with reconciling Production Cash Flow payments
• Handle ancillary invoice billing to 3rd party companies
• Preparation of Journal Entries
• Run and review reports from financial systems, including SAP and Smart Accounting
• Support monthly/quarterly accounting close, and research as needed to ensure all costs are reconciled to SAP and accounted for at the show level

• Assist as point of contact with artists’ representatives and the Payroll Company for Development projects. This position is responsible for handling the set-up process including start paperwork
• Review freelance invoices and union/non-union payroll for Development and transmit to the Payroll Company
• Perform weekly payroll edit review based on data received by Payroll Company, correspond with Payroll paymaster on outstanding issues, and timely approval of edits

• Maintain the physical and digital files for various television productions
• Handle shipping and packaging needs
• Assist department with various show set-up requests along with various ad hoc projects

Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 2-3 years finance or accounting experience, preferably within the media and entertainment landscape
• Experience with accounting principles and practices, general ledger systems and accounts payable functions

Additional Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of Excel
• Experience in general ledger accounting systems preferred (SAP, EP Smart Accounting)
• Learns quickly, conducts self-reviews, checks work and learns from mistakes
• Is curious, hardworking, and passionate about entertainment finance; and maintains a positive attitude
• Works effectively and efficiently with heavy volume and tight deadlines
• Ideal candidate works calm under pressure, has a strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with senior management and other high-level industry executives
• Undergraduate degree strongly preferred
