Payroll/Production Accountant – National Geographic Studios, Washington, DC
Looking to fill this long-term, temporary position at the National Geographic Society’s content production studio. Focus will be on TV Production, however the position also supports the Digital and Film Production units. Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years experience managing production payroll, the ability to coordinate information and documentation between various production offices, and excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Production payroll
o Create or revise TWAs (Temporary Work Authorizations) in Filemaker Database, review for errors or omissions, send to payroll company
o Process payroll Monday mornings: coordinate with production teams, review for duplicate time cards, email funding reports to payroll company, create and monitor payment voucher in PeopleSoft.
o Track contractors with delinquent payroll start paperwork.
• Production expense reporting
o Coordination of cash advances and reconciliation of those advances with Corporate Finance.
o Coordinate the issuance and ongoing funding of purchase cards and reconciliation of expense reporting with Corporate Finance. Submit the monthly invoice from the credit card company to Accounts Payable.
• Cost reporting assistance
o Work with Manager of Production Accounting to make sure the costs in the Filemaker system are accurate, ETCs & Purchase Orders are updated, and cost reports are published according to network timelines.
o Generally, make sure costs are flowing properly between Filemaker and PeopleSoft.
