Job Description

The Amazon Studios finance team is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to drive improvements that span across strategy, financial planning & analysis, analytics, and evaluating new business opportunities. This position involves many ad hoc projects, and therefore a successful candidate will have the ability to tackle multiple projects and efficiently execute deliverables. The right individual will have exceptional finance skills and strong understanding of Finance & Accounting principles, solid analytical skills, and firm business judgment capable of driving an organization to the right results.

He or she will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment and have the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of analyses. The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and prioritize.

The team needs a self-starter, who is able to work autonomously and drive cross-functional projects involving teams such as FP&A, Content Production & Operations, Marketing, Research/Analytics, Accounting, and Business Development. The candidate will need to able to collaborate with business partners both domestically as well as abroad and must display strong initiative for anticipating and meeting the business demands of senior-level executives.

This position will be based in Culver City, CA.

Key responsibilities include:
– Creating complex financial models to analyze the performance of Amazon original content. This will require developing robust analytical frameworks and also the ability to effectively collaborate with various teams throughout the organization to gather inputs and build reporting processes.
– Partnering finance, accounting and business teams across the globe to construct and implement improvements relating to the financial forecasting/planning process.
-Work on monthly FP&A duties including forecasts, month-end close, annual budgets
– Create new tools/systems/dashboards that enable teams throughout Digital Video to analyze the various costs and value-drivers for Amazon original content.
– Work closely with business and finance partners to support and influence new and existing content strategies.

· 5+ years of finance experience or a related analytical field.

– BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science) and a minimum 5+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field, OR master’s degree and 3+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field

– Proficiency in Cognos TM1, SQL, Oracle, and database management
– Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, and Cognos TM1 are a plus.
-Prior experience in media and/or entertainment
-Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously, and drive projects to completion
– Ability to build and manage complex financial models for business forecasting and analysis
– Experience working with large data and developing scalable solutions for financial reporting and forecasting.
– Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills. Highly detail-oriented.
– Must be able to work independently, be a self-starter and be prepared to have a hands on approach.
