We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with interest in the financial operations of the Music industry to join our Studios Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at an early, high growth stage and have ownership of multiple functions. Applicant must possess keen logical thinking capabilities and attentive to details. Strong comfort interpreting music agreements, specifically distribution (physical & digital), production, and licensing with a willingness to learn/absorb new concepts is pertinent. Above average writing and organizational skills are necessary, as position will have a level of autonomy.

The position will have ownership over the financial reporting and analysis for the Original Music and the Music Business Affairs teams. This position will lead in analyzing deal profitability, developing template reporting guidelines for legal negotiations, and working towards creating scalable processes between business partners. This position will continuously survey the music industry for changes in the marketplace and provide insight on innovative ways to leverage current deals, monetize the music catalog, and provide long-term deal impacts as the industry changes. The role will also establish and maintain the quarterly business review meeting for the music department, which summarizes original soundtracks released, digital sales, off-platform streaming revenue, on-platform streaming data, publishing, advances, and each albums’ financial status.

This role must align with several stakeholders at the Studio including Music Finance, Business Affairs Legal, Production and other partners actively involved with hiring, producing, and developing music content. Finally, this role is the sole contact for interaction between external customers including music labels, talent, American Federation of Film Musicians (AFM), and publishers.

The person in this position will have visibility up to leadership levels at Amazon Studios. This role is expected to work with a high degree of autonomy, anticipate the needs of the business partners, and provide solutions by analyzing the data, impacts, and agreed to terms in current deals.

Key job responsibilities
· Work with music team to review contracts for relevant payment terms and conditions.
· Monitor/update soundtrack release schedules for all productions.
· Conduct analysis of data sets, extracting insights that will drive decision making.
· Manage quarterly reporting across the catalog.
· Creating ultimates, accruals, and adjustment as necessary.
· Drive process improvement across the Music department.
· Scale current and future process for worldwide distribution.
· Define measures of success for ongoing and new initiatives.
· Identify opportunities to automate existing reports.
· Work with internal tech teams to create dashboards and additional tools
· Manage audit process.
· Ad Hoc analysis upon request.
· Various projects.

· 5+ years of finance experience or a related analytical field.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, or business administration.
· Ability to work in team environment with many different business partners.
· Experience reading and interpreting music legal agreements.
· Advanced level of Excel.

· Intermediate knowledge of music reporting guidelines dealing with streaming, digital/physical sales, and other various forms of distribution.
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in music reporting.
· Experience with Oracle and Coupa a plus.
