You will collaborate closely with the payroll accountant, production staff, and line producers to facilitate smooth payroll operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of union payroll procedures, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.  Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues in a proactive and efficient manner.  Support the payroll team with additional tasks and projects as needed to ensure the smooth operation of payroll processes.


  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Knowledge of union payroll rules, labor laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • SAG Payroll Processing Experience is a plus
  • Smart Accounting, Smart Start, Smart Time, Showbiz Timecards, DocuSign and Box
  • Digital Approvals and Filing Experience Preferred
  • On-Site Non-Negotiable; No Distant Hires

Accounting team in Culver City, CA needs an experienced Payroll Assistant with amazing organizational and communication skills to work in-office on a scripted TV series.

The person hired will be an important in-person point of contact for crew members for questions, concerns, etc.

Payroll team is using SmartStart, SmartTime applications.

Some of the responsibilities include: wrangling timecards/paperwork, entering daily times in SmartTime, verifying

I9s, and supporting the Payroll Accountants.

This is an 871 position that starts Mid April and runs thru Mid December.  Salary up to $2100 based on experience.




Payroll Assistant – position is filled

Looking for PR Asst to join our established team on a first season ½ hour tv show in Chicago. This is a local, in-office position.

Experience working in accounting is preferred, but will train if you have a desire to learn.

Programs include SmartStart, SmartTime, V5, Scenechronize, Adobe, Excel, DocuSign, and Dropbox. Will be working with paper timecards and extras vouchers.

The core responsibility will  be to provide support to the payroll accountant with day to day tasks. Such as – digital filling, inputting data, verifying I9’s and wrangling missing paperwork. Ideal candidate is someone with good organizational and communication skills. A self-starter and must be able to accurately input data.

The position begins early April thru June.  Salary range $1250 to $1400 based on experience.
