Vice President, Production Accounting (Drama)


The Vice President of Production Accounting, based in Century City, CA, is responsible for all related accounting activities for 1 hour drama television series and pilots for Twentieth Century Fox Television. This position requires an experienced leader who thrives in a driven, professional environment with extensive experience in handling demanding work requirements with unique challenges, and enthusiastically views complexity as a welcome challenge.

• Responsible for supervising production accountants for each show and managing a team of internal analysts • Review spot audits on shows, pilots and train analysts on audit procedures to ensure adherence to FOX’s production controls and procedures • Generate first passes of the budgets for pilots and new series • Prepare and review episodic budgets, cost reports, and daily hot costs • Oversee all post production accounting and corresponding with 3rd party accountants • Updates Production Status Report for Dramas • Accountable for authorization on accountant petty cash, AMEX, & timecards • Reviews participation report • Approve payment authorizations, invoices, journals, stop payments, check stock, and ATL reconciliations.
• Maintain a database of 9 or 10 North American location template budgets for Pilots and Series • Prepare cash flow schedule for all foreign currency, and assist Treasury to hedge currency fluctuations by purchasing forward contracts • Track Network Reimbursements for Drama shows • Prepare estimates of production tax incentives for various states and/or countries for new Shows • Create and maintain great relationships in the production accounting community • Work closely with FOX production executives and show producers to ensure timely and accurate reporting of all shows in production and development • Work closely with Corporate Finance & Planning to coordinate the quarterly close and long term planning process • Assist Labor Relations with historical data for negotiations with SAG, DGA, WGA, & IATSE • Attend weekly Production and Drama staff meetings • Visits to show accounting departments • Special projects for Executive Vice President of Production

• A minimum of 10 years of scripted production accounting and budgeting expertise • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field • Extensive understanding of Guild, Union & PH&W requirements • Experience working in Movie Magic Budgeting, Vista accounting system and Excel • Multi camera episodic television experience highly desirable • Prior international production accounting experience • Prior experience working with multiple scripted Comedy and/or Drama shows and products • Ability to read a script and break it down • Ability to work with both internal and external professionals at all levels • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to visit show accounting departments • Thrive in a fast-paced, demanding studio environment • Strong analytical skills to differentiate symptoms from causes • Strong managerial skills to lead a team • Comfortable communicating clearly and directly with senior executives when providing guidance or responding to questions
